ISECO recently completed a
major $4.3M upgrade of the Fonterra Altona bulk dairy products
storage and distribution warehouse.
The project scope was to
construct a 10,000 pallet refrigerated storage facility located
within the existing structure. The scope also included the
construction of a 25,000 cum dry storage bay, upgrading hard stands,
road barriers and container bays.
ISECO’s roll was to act as
project managers and prime consultants for the project. To
supplement the in house ISECO skills of refrigeration, insulated
panels and automated doors, ISECO engaged the building surveyor,
electrical, structural, civil and fire engineers all as required to
carry out the work.
As project managers ISECO
supervised the overall works.
These were let as six individual contractor packages,
including building works. This was necessary to meet the tight
contract time frame of six months from initiation to practical
completion. By managing the project in this way ISECO retained
control over the financial management and quality of
work
